The aim of the research is to study the possibility of correcting hypothyroidism with a synthetic analogue of the opioid leu-enkephalin (dalargin). The research was carried out on 70 white outbred male rats. The animals were simulated experimental hypothyroidism by the introduction of a synthetic thyreostatic which is called mercazolil. The positive long-term corrective effect of dalargin on the production of thyroid hormones has been shown. Dalargin lowers corticosterone level and protects the body from the damaging effects of stress.
