For the prevention and treatment of diseases of bacterial and viral etiology, currently widely used drugs are chemotherapeutic antibacterial drugs, which, if used incorrectly and haphazardly, lead to the appearance of multi-resistant strains of microorganisms. Therefore, the search for alternative drugs is the primary task of veterinary medicine. Silver-based drugs have a more pronounced bactericidal effect than antibiotics. Silver ions also have the ability to inactivate some viruses. We studied the tolerance of chickens to a silver-based preparation of 0.5% concentration. As a result of our studies, it was found that the use of a silver-based drug in various doses affects hematological parameters and leads to an increase in such indicators as lymphocytes, monocytes, hemoglobin, red blood cells, hematocrit, basophils and eosinophils.
