The article presents the results of using, and effect a various doses of the herbal preparation derived from the shoots of the Aralia mandshurica for the growth, development and some physiological parameters of pigs during the period of their rearing and fattening. Feeding piglets with the preparation contributed to an increase in live weight from 4.1% to 14.7%. The absolute gain in live weight of animals of 1st, 2nd and 3rd experimental groups increased by 4.6%, 15.9% and 16.6%, respectively, compared with the control group. Experimental studies have established a positive effect of the studied doses of the preparation on the digestibility of nutrients in diets. The data obtained indicate that the digestibility coefficients of the main substances in the experimental groups were higher than in the control group: crude protein (by 3.05-5.17%), fat (by 3.78-6.00%), crude fiber (by 1.87-4.75%), and Nitrogen-free extractive compounds (by 2.82-6.34%). The use of feed nitrogen from that taken in the experimental groups exceeded the values of the control group by 4.21-8.04%, and from the digested feed - by 2.31-5.44%. It was found that the addition of this preparation to the pig diet in doses from 60 to 90 mg/kg of live weight affects the growth rate, metabolism and reduces feed costs per unit of gain.
