The analysis of the Russian populations of Aberdeen Angus cattle (n=4178) has shown that 8.50±0.27% are developmental duplication carriers (DDC), 0.15±0.03% - double muscling carriers (M1C), 0.26±0.02 – osteopetrosis carriers (OSC) and 1.84±0.28% - arthrogriposis multiplex carriers (AMC). The genotyping of the four populations on F94L polymorphism of myostatin gene has shown the high frequencies of the desirable associated with the leaner carcass A allele (0.71-0.93) and the high frequencies of the animals with AA genotype which consisted 71.5-93.1% dependently from the population. The correlation analysis of the high frequency of A allele of F94L MSTN with the frequencies of animals-genetic defects carriers in the populations has shown the presence of the more quantity of AMC-, OSC-, DDC and M1C-animals in the groups with the higher percentage of AA F94L MSTN genotype.
