In this paper, we propose an algorithm for localization of negative processes that occur in geotechnical systems. The development of negative processes affects the stability and integrity of buildings. The developed algorithm is based on the processing of the results of the preliminary analysis (acceptable ranges of parameter values, critical values, model data) and the data of the monitoring system. Based on the proposed algorithm, it becomes possible to specify the permissible parameters of the geotechnical system and predict out-of-design situations. The results of the algorithm are confirmed by the results of monitoring a three-storey administrative building with destructive processes.
