The paper describes the actual problem of mechanical engineering and presents a comparative analysis of materials for flexible load-gripping devices, mainly used when carrying out rigging operations with special loads. As an example, we have selected lifting equipment in the design of which hinge chains, welded chains or metal ropes are used. Multi-branch lifting means are considered and a brief description of their application is given. The basic requirements for chain suspensions and requirements for the manufacture of welded chains, as well as requirements for the materials of the chains, and the methodology for conducting the incoming inspection of purchased components are described. The paper emphasizes the importance of conducting a detailed incoming control for the compliance of the chemical structure of the material with the requirements of regulatory, technical and accompanying documentation. As a result, arguments are given for the design and use of flexible load-gripping devices.
