The grinding process is the most important and determining the size and quality characteristics of the fibrous semi-finished product, respectively, and the physical and mechanical properties of the products made from it. This paper presents the results of experimental studies carried out under conditions as close as possible to the industrial conditions of the process of grinding the fibrous semi-finished product in the production of fiberboard. This makes it possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed set of fibrillating action for the preparation of wood fiber in disk mills when changing the main factors of grinding process. The results of the planned and implemented multifactorial experiment made it possible to establish the influence of the rotor speed and the concentration of wood fiber pulp, as well as the pairwise interaction of these parameters when using a new set on the intensity of changes in the main dimensional and qualitative characteristics of wood fiber semi-finished product (degree of grinding, average length and diameter of fibers, length ratio to the fiber diameter) during its preparation.
