The performance of most units of modern trucks is largely determined by the durability of the gears. And this is largely due to the strength of the teeth, depending primarily on the material used and the technological methods of strengthening. In this article, the efficiency of strengthening gears using the method of abrasive (shot blasting) processing is established. Using a fraction of ø 0.45-0.60 mm with a hardness of HV610 and a processing time of 45 seconds made it possible to obtain compressive stresses on the surface at the level of 600 MPa and increase the durability of the gears by 30-50%.
