FML (Fibre Metal Laminate) is a combination of Fibre/matrix layers and metal layers. GLARE (Glass Laminate Aluminum Reinforced Epoxy), a FML type is made up of Glass fiber/Epoxy layers together with Aluminum metal layers. Aluminum layers and Glass fiber reinforcement layers are joined like a sandwich with epoxy as the matrix. GLARE composite is predominantly used in Aircraft structures for their excellent mechanical properties which are better than some metals. In aircrafts, dynamic loads are acting on the wings which makes fatigue properties important. The present investigation is focussed on lap shear and fatigue properties of GLARE - 3/4 (3 Aluminum layers and 4 GFRP layers) and GLARE - 5/4 (5 Aluminum layers and 4 GFRP layers) layup sequences. In Lap shear test, 5/4 specimens exhibited 25% more lap shear strength than 3/4 specimens. For Fatigue test, the loads applied for testing were 90, 80, 70, 60, 50% of Yield strength of GLARE - 3/4 and GLARE - 5/4. 5/4 Fatigue specimens withstood 90% more cycles than 3/4 specimens.
