The paper presents studies of overgrowth of water bodies in the Kuban River basin using the methodology for assessing overgrowth and siltation of water reservoirs based on remote sensing data. A detailed analysis was made of changes in the water mirror areas of the Krasnodarskoye, Kubanskoye, Shapsugskoye, Varnavinskoye, Kryukovskoye, Shenjiyskoye, Oktyabrskoye, Sengileyevskoye and Ganzhinskoye reservoirs from the beginning of their operation until 2020. According to the results of the conducted studies, reservoirs with intensive siltation (more than 50% of the water mirror area from the design values) were identified, including Shapsugskoye, Ganzhinskoye, Shenjiyskoye, Oktyabrskoye and Kryukovskoye reservoirs.
