The electronic ticketing has been widely used in public transport and con-tributed essential parts of a smart city. Smartcard, a form of electronic ticketing, has been employed in many cities internationally and offering travel convenience to passengers. However, the key drivers for a successful implementation of electronic ticketing are little known since individual travel behavior is lack. Ticketing system much depends on travel behavior of transport users, level of integration of public transport system, and proper ticketing pricing schemes. This paper aims at investigating public transport system and travel behavior of transport users in Hanoi to propose a specific electronic ticketing for this city. Based on public transport system analysis, travel behavior interview survey and the investigation of different pricing scheme, an electronic ticketing is proposed specifically for Hanoi city. The study results contribute to a specific implementation of e-ticket integration and the pricing scheme, a significant part of transport strategies, to promote smart transport system in Hanoi smart city.
