The investigation of the brain electrical activity with the use of electroencephalograms as a reflection of the functionality of the central nervous system enables us to reveal the higher nervous activity mechanisms of a human as well as the disturbance of this activity. An electroencephalogram represents the dynamics of the electrical potential difference between the electrodes which are installed on the surface of the patient's scalp. In this paper, we investigate aspects of the automatic analysis of long-term temporal correlations of electroencephalographic data based on the use of the Hurst index.
