Entamoeba histolytica samples were taken from patients at Salah al-Din General Hospital / Tikrit, suffering from amoebic dysentery, from October 2017 until March 2018. Parasitic cysts of was isolated and infected in laboratory mices and then treated with water extract of Mentha piperita in three different concentrations. and some biochemical parameters have been studied through rate of changes in Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Total protein and some of liver enzymes AST, ALT and response of infected mice for treatment with water extracts. A significant decrease was observed in concentration of lipids. The decrease was significant in concentration of Cholesterol and Triglycerides and total protein in laboratory mice. The lowest concentration was achieved when using extract with 0.5 ml, 124.50, 32.60, and 4.630 mg / Respectively, compared to control group 189.80, 39.80 and 5.600 mg / dl respectively, Significant changes were also observed in concentration of cholesterol, triglyceride, and total protein in treated mice with water extract of M. piperita compared to negative control . As for concentration of both AST / ALT, the results showed significant changes in their concentration in infected mice. The lowest concentration of AST was at 0.5 mL, 18.40 IU / L, (IU / L) and ALT (16.90 IU / L) at 0.5 mL of extract compared to control group of 28.20 IU / L.
