We often meet situations in the design of the contact line of urban electric transport lines, when the conditions of the existing urban development and other infrastructure do not allow us to withstand all the optimal conditions established by the regulatory and technical documentation with reasonable economic indicators. Such cases require additional substantiating of technical solutions that are used to ensure normal and safe operating conditions. The article provides a methodology for substantiating technical solutions for the protection of the tram contact line from the electromagnetic influence of overhead power lines when crossing at angles below 60°. We considered such protective measures as: installation of capacitor jumpers, rolling of the shielding wire, installation of the shielding network. The article evaluates the effectiveness of protective measures.
