In 2018, the largest energy consumption of oil energy in Indonesia is from transportation sector which is 40% from the total energy consumption. However, Indonesia's oil production for the last 10 years has become decrease over the years. In 2009, Indonesia produced a total of 346 million barrels of oil, while in 2018 it fell to 283 million barrels of oil. To anticipate the high needs of energy consumption, Indonesia has to utilize the alternative energy. One of the energy alternatives that being developed in Indonesia is bioethanol that can be used as an alternative fuel in internal combustion engine. Based on previous research that discussed the effect of low-grade bioethanol, oxygenated cyclohexanol, and oxygenated cycloheptanol additive to Coefficient of Yariation (COY), exhaust emissions, and fuel consumption on SI engine [1,10,14], the authors examined further to analyze the effect of gasoline and low-grade bioethanol blend (E10) and oxygenated cyclooctanol additive to COY, power, and torque on SI engine. The result shows that the 1,3 vol% oxygenated cyclooctanol additives in E10 gave the best results in power and torque for low (4000 RPM), middle (6000 RPM), and high (8500 RPM) engine speed.
