In this study, the application of the flat sheet membrane made of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was examined, for the treatment of industrial wastewater in Batik. The PVDF/PVP flat sheet membranes were produced using the phase inversion process, with a PVP mass variation of 0.1; 0.15 or 0.2 grams. Prior to membrane application, the Batik pretreatment was carried out by means of coagulation and flocculation processes. Batik wastewater from the pre-treatment was then filtered with PVDF/PVP membrane in ultrafiltration process, using feed pressure variations of 4, 5, 6, and 7 bars, respectively. The experimental results showed that the pure water and water permeated flux increased with the addition of PVP to the membrane material. The maximum color and COD rejections occurred in PVDF/PVP 0.1 membranes, while the maximum rejections of TSS and conductivity occurred in PVDF/PVP 0.2 membranes.
