In this paper, the physical parameters such as density, molar volume, oxygen packing density (OPD) and oxygen molar volume of (xBi2O3+(0.30-x) Nb2O5+0.30 Al2O3+0.40SiO2, where x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, and 0.25 % mole fraction) glass system have been evaluated. The elastic parameters namely Young, bulk, shear moduli, Poisson’s ratio and hardness number (H) have also been studied using the Makishima and Meckenzie model in order to study the radiation shielding competence of the Niobium-Bismuth-Alumina-Silicate glasses the mass attenuation coefficients and Half Value Layer (HVL) were calculated for γ-ray photon energies of 59.54 - 1332 keV. On the basis of the obtained results, it has been reported that the Niobium-Bismuth-Alumina-Silicate glasses possess satisfactory physical, elastic and radiation shielding properties and could be useful for practical radiation shielding design.
