The outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), has caused an emergency in health system worldwide. The mortality rate estimated by the world health organization of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic reached 4.41% in July 13, 2020. The routes of transmission were questioned during rapid rise in COVID-19 illnesses and deaths globally. The COVID-19 suspected to be infected through airborne transmission. Dentists have high risk infection towards COVID-19 which part of the treatment is using dental bur or scaler which create aerosol. The aim of this review is to present the latest info about COVID-19 transmission and the risks related to dental practice and current recommendation for dental practitioners. A literature search was performed in pubmed, science direct and google scholar. High viral transmission of COVID-19 demand new protocol to protect dental healthcare worker.
