This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective ethnomathematics-based student worksheet using a contextual approach to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of junior high school students. This development research applied the Dick And Carey development model consisting of ten stages of development. The trial was conducted on 16 Year 7 students from one of the Islamic junior high schools in Bireuen, Aceh, Indonesia. The instruments used in this study were the assessment sheet of student worksheets, interviews, and student questionnaires. The student worksheet was said to be valid, practical, and effective. The validation results of two mathematics education lecturers and one junior high school mathematics teacher showed that the student worksheet satisfied the ’good’ criteria. Furthermore, ten students showed very positive responses, and six others expressed positive responses. The student learning outcomes test also indicated that students’ scores were above the minimum criteria for mastery learning.
