YouTube is a manifestation of the shift in internet technology and has become one of the social media that is practical and easily accessible. This research aimed to investigate the effect of YouTube video media to improve the ability of analytical thinking in natural science grade-5 students of elementary schools. This research was quasi- experiment with pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this research were grade-5 students of Sambirejo 2 Elementary School Trenggalek, Indonesia. Data were analyzed with t-test and N-gain using SPSS 21. The result showed: (1) there is a significant difference between student scores before and after using YouTube videos in studying the human skeleton (p=0.00, p<0.05). (2) Learning by using YouTube videos was more effective than textbooks in improving analytical thinking ability student in natural science learning (N-gain 0.65). Thus, the results obtained that there is an effect of the use of YouTube video media to improve the ability to think analytically on science “human skeleton” material for grade-5 Elementary School in online learning.
