In this work dynamics of temperature fields of the weld obtained at low air temperatures at various durations of keeping pipe ends in warm shelter is investigated, based on mathematical modeling of the thermal process. Calculations have shown that with insufficient heating of pipes in shelter, the dynamics of temperature fields during welding deviates from the dynamics of standard welding. Calculations show the boundaries of the melt under various welding conditions. Recommendations for welding polyethylene pipes at low temperatures using shelters are given.
