Increased demand, price rates, and the depletion of fossil fuels are occurring today. Interest in the development of biodiesel is therefore increasing. Since the mahua is inedible oil and can not be used for domestic purposes, and the mahua fruit kernel contains 35-40 percent of the oil, which can be a major source of biodiesel. In India, mahua trees are abundantly available. The process of transesterification has been used to prepare Mahua biodiesel and the properties of neat and blended mahua biodiesel are studied. It contains approximately 42.1 percent saturated and 57.9 percent unsaturated fatty acids. However, after transesterification, the viscosity of crude mahua oil is reduced, but it is still more than pure diesel. Then, the physiochemical properties of mahua oil made the properties of diesel fuel relevant. Besides, Mahua biodiesel blended with mineral diesel in volumetric percentages and blended biodiesel properties assessed against the relevant standards. In this research, the performance and emission characteristics of the compression ignition engine shall be determined by gasoline fumigation using mahua biodiesel oil. Performance and emission characteristics of the engine carried out with and without exhaust gas treatment by the introduction of a water scrub method and a silica gel chamber. Best of the biodiesel blends identified by optimizing the results and that of the biodiesel blends investigated by gasoline fumigation, which is further tested by low-cost exhaust gas post-treatment by water scrubbing and silica gel.
