The acyclic, cyclic isoprenoid and phenolic compounds were identified in particular peat deposits of the Ar-khangelsk region using the chromato-mass spectrometry method. The analysis of their distribution in peat showed that peat samples from Mudyug Island and the left bank of the Mezen River enriched with alkanones, aldehydes and β-sito-sterol. The high content of lupenon was noted in peat samples from the lower layers of the Onega deposit. The maximum amount of taraxeron was recorded in peat sample from the Mezen district, and α- and β-amyrins and their keto-substituted derivatives were found in peat sample from the Nizhnaya Zolotitsa village. The peat of the lower layer of the deposit from the Mudyug Island enriched with pimarane type diterpenoids. Behenic acid and tocopherol in maximum concentrations are present in the peat sample of the lower layer of the deposit from the left bank of the Mezen River.
