The structure and microhardness of the heat-affected zone of low-carbon and low-alloy steel 09G2S, the melting zone and the coating obtained by manual electric arc welding using electrodes modified with nanoparticles of titanium carbonitrides have been investigated. It is shown that the dependence of microhardness on the distance from the coating surface has 4 stages. The microstructure of all zones has been studied using optical and scanning tunneling microscopes and its effect on the impact strength of the coating-substrate composition is discussed.
