In this work, a novel approach for the analysis of aerospace stiffened structure is here proposed. The importance of stiffened structures in the design concept of many vehicles and buildings is clear, their use permits to achieve greater strength with relatively less material. A modal analysis of stiffened flat panels is here presented through the use of a plate finite element (FE) with advanced higher-order kinematic field. The present novel approach permits to simplify the modelization and assembling phase for the analysis of stiffened structures, and the mechanical continuity between skin and stiffener deformed geometry are automatically verified. Some results are presented to validate and demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the present plate finite element applied to the analysis of structures with stiffeners.
