Ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the reciprocating compressors in the wide range of the operating parameters is one of the important issues at designing, manufacture and operation of the compressor equipment. When designing reciprocating compressors for NGV-refueling compressor station the input pressure can vary from 0.15 to 12.0 MPa depending on the station location. Provision of the compressor serviceability in the wide ranges of parameter variations requires multivariate calculations in order to find the best design parameters of the compressor. The theoretical investigation of the gas initial parameters influence on the multistage reciprocating compressor operation process is represented in this study. Given here is the description of the intermediate pressure calculation method by compressor stages and the real gas properties calculation method. The comparison results of the compressor operation in different modes at compression of both the ideal gas and the real gas.
