The aircraft wheel hub is an important component of a landing gear system. With tires mounted upon them they support the entire weight of the aircraft during takeoff and landing. The typical aircraft wheel hub is lightweight, strong and made of aluminum alloy. For the last many years, a great number of failures had been reported with aircraft landing as a result of damage to the wheel hub. Current investigations by different authors on the wheel hub mainly focus on the failure analysis of aircraft wheel hubs for ideal landing conditions. In the present investigation, Al-Si-Mg-Co alloy will be used for the (aircraft wheel hub). A research was conducted recently on the material properties of the developed alloy (Al- Si-Mg-Co) and these properties will be given as an input to the Ansys software. The 3D modeling of the wheel hub was done using Solidworks. Moreover, this research mainly focuses on obtaining strength variations for respective loads in the respective nodes. The material properties were fed into the system and Static structural analysis will be conducted on the developed model using Ansys. Further, a comparative study will be conducted on the structural analysis between the regular Al-Si-Mg alloy and Al-SI-Mg-Co alloy and the obtained results may be recommended to industries for manufacturing the component.
