There are presented the experimental data that determine the spectral emissivity ελ and its temperature dependence for a number of rare-earth dodecaborides single crystals (YB12 [100], ErB12 [100], [110], [111], HoB12 [211], TmB12 [110]). Using the black body model, the ελ values were calculated from the data of brightness and true temperature while heating dodecaboride single crystals in vacuum in the temperature range 1200 – 2000 K. There were studies the structure and phase composition of the near-surface layer of these crystals by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray phase analysis before and after their heating. It is shown that the ελ values and their temperature dependencies for rare earth dodecaborides single crystals are determined by phase composition and surface topography.
