In this paper, the results of calculations of the structural characteristics of nonpolar substances (the number of nearest neighbors of the molecule) in the temperature range from melting temperature to critical temperature, internal interaction energy, and energy of effective pair potential are given. When studying the polarization interaction of noble gases and other nonpolar molecular systems, the critical temperature rather than the boiling temperature is considered to be the measure of thermal motion that is necessary to overcome the dispersion interaction. The study made it possible to substantiate the fundamental relationships connecting the properties of a molecule (pair potential) with the characteristic of a substance (critical temperature), and specify new existence criteria for nonpolar molecular systems.
