The purpose of the study is to ensure that human production and life has efficient and high- performance energy supply, so that the comprehensive energy planning can be organically coordinated and optimized, and the power system as the basis of the comprehensive energy system can supply energy efficiently and stably. First, EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) technology was proposed, and the transmission principle and advantages of EPON technology were described. Second, the calculation method of optical attenuation was proposed for EPON technology and the optical loss in distribution automation communication network. Finally, according to the stability of distribution automation network in different environments, the reliability calculation method of equipment protection structure was put forward. The research results showed that if the number of output terminals was 15, the loss of optical connection equipment was 15dB in time, the loss of fusion connection was 3dB, and the loss of light distribution equipment was 14dB. In this way, it is capable of grasping the situation that the problem of optical attenuation was aggravated due to the existence of multiple adverse factors such as transmission distance problem and optical power problem. The chain route two-way protection structure of X area in the actual distribution braking network contained 10 input devices, the main route optical fiber was 2km, and the optical fiber of the interconnection device was 1km. The general calculation equation of failure rate suggested that the reliability of the chain route was very high. To sum up, this provides an effective calculation method for the efficient and stable operation of the distribution automation system. It helps grasping the loss and reliability of the distribution automation system at any time, and provides the practical basis for the calculation of the power supply efficiency of the power system.
