The reduction of Cu(II) and Pb(II) metals in groundwater in the environment of a used battery home industry at Pesarean village Tegal Central Java is being carried out by the adsorption method using Mg/Al-Hydrotalcite. Adsorption is done by varying the adsorption time (0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 minutes) and variations in the adsorption temperature (room temperature, 40, 50, and 60 °C) between the adsorbent and the sample. Mg/Al-Hydrotalcite adsorbent can work optimally to reduce the concentration of Cu and Pb after 30 minutes. Mg/Al-Hydrotalcite can be used for adsorption of Cu(II) and Pb(II) in groundwater with qe values of 0.7823 and 0.1696 mg.g–1, respectively. The adsorption kinetics model for Cu and Pb metals all follow the pseudo-second-order kinetics model.
