Organic, inorganic, and nanohybrid polymer thin films plays a pivotal role in the development of electronic devices, passivation coatings, chemical and electronic sensors, batteries, organic transistors, high-performance dielectrics, optical data storage and communications, and displays based on organic electroluminescent materials Among the optical polymers, Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) (CH3CH3CCOOCH3) has been recognized as an excellent optical polymer. Studies of metal oxide doped PMMA are important for determining and controlling the operational characteristics of different PMMA composites. In the present work we have prepared PMMA thin films doped with different concentrations of metal oxides (ZnO and TiO2) using solution cast method and the structural and optical properties of undoped and metal oxide doped polymeric films have been studied using XRD and U.V. Vis- Spectrometer.
