Present study examines impact of momentum mismatch between the pump field and generated harmonics on the conversion efficiency of the quantum semiconductor plasma medium. Momentum mismatched situation implies a finite coherence length of a finite plasma medium; therefore a mathematical model is to be developed for a finite plasma. Momentum mismatch tends to increase the required pump field to incite the parametric interaction. Long coherence length is found to be favorable to achieve larger conversion efficiency. Momentum mismatch tends to reduce conversion efficiency whereas larger diffraction effects tend to increase conversion efficiency for the said process. Numerical estimations have been made by considering an n-InSb sample cell of millimeter dimensions. This compound semiconductor is assumed to be irradiated by a 10.6µm CO2 laser.
