The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Conceptual Change Texts are effective in overcoming misconceptions of matter and its changes. This study used one group pretest-posttest design with 131 physical inorganic chemistry students of State University of Malang. Students’ misconceptions were determined by Matter and Its Changes Diagnostic Test. Nine misconceptions were identified in pretest. The results showed that the application of Conceptual Change Texts was successful in overcoming the misconceptions of matter and its changes.
