Numerical and experimental investigations have been performed for the flow over the heat transfer surface with oval-trench and oval-arched shaped dimples. A comparative assessment of such turbulent promoters with oval and hemispherical dimples is presented. It was demonstrated that the dimples with relative geometrical dimensions of l/b=4.7-5.78; h/b=0.18-0.37; r=0.025b and the dimple attack angle of 45° degrees shows best heat transfer performance.
