In this present project experimental investigation was carried out to study the behavior of Alkali Activated Slag Concrete (AASC) and Traditionally Vibrated Concrete (TVC) columns under axial loading. The dimensions of the columns were 150mm×150mm×1219mm to mimic the short column behavior. The longitudinal steel ratio was varied for the specimens. Different criteria’s such as load deformation behavior, compression stiffness and surface strain were studied. Test results for both AASC and TVC columns were compared. From the results, it was observed that the AASC columns performed better compared to TVC columns.
