Wear in friction pairs of the endoprosthesis plays an important role in the mechanical behavior of the bone-endoprosthesis system. To increase the wear resistance of metallic materials used in friction pairs, reinforcing coatings are applied. Tribological and mechanical properties of the coatings depend on application regimes. This paper presents a numerical study on modeling the process of sliding friction of two contacting surfaces of the ceramic coatings, applied under different regimes. The results obtained indicate the promise of using coatings applied under different deposition conditions for different parts of the friction pair.
