Pure Zinc oxide (ZnO) and different concentration of Bi3+ ion doped ZnO nanopowders were synthesized by solution combustion method. Influence of doping on structural and optical properties of nanopowders of ZnO was analyzed using X Ray Diffraction (XRD), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The composition of the synthesized samples confirmed using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy. The average crystalline size of nanopowders is found to be in the nanometer range for pure ZnO and doped ZnO nanopowders. Luminescence emissions were shifted due to the doping and it is confirmed from PL spectra.
