Several experimental activities with the use of a cheap and handheld digital oscilloscope are presented in this paper. The introduced experimental activities belong to the topic of Periodic processes (ISCED 3A) and are focused on observation of the basic properties of different vibrating and rotating objects. After connecting the appropriate input peripherals that serve as analogue sensors, it is possible to display the progress of the periodic processes and measure their basic characteristics. It is also possible to convert the measured waveforms (in the case of suitable frequencies) to the sound with a connected amplifier and loudspeaker. Presented experimental activities are suitable for the pupil exploring in the learning process due to their simple implementation and the opportunity to stimulate pupils’ interest in science. Methodical remarks and proposals for the use in teaching are included in each activity and the connection between explored effects and real-life situations is emphasized, too.
