Here, we report on the preparation of a piezoelectric nanogenerator (PNG) based on reduced graphene oxide incorporated poly(vinylidene fluoride) film. A simple route of synthesis is followed to prepare rGO and the composite film (rGO-PVDF). It is found that, trace amount of rGO can induce almost 93% of electroactive phases with improved surface morphology in the composite film. Owing to its enhanced electroactive phase nucleation, the rGO-PVDF film can be used in piezo and pyroelectric energy harvesting application. Moreover, the composite film based PNG can produce an open circuit voltage up to 5 V by repetitive finger imparting. Thus, its promising mechanical energy harvesting performance makes it suitable to use as a power source for driving optoelectronic devices.
