Aerobic composting technology is an effective solution to treat organic waste. Sludge, as one kind of organic waste, the traditional way to treat is to dewater it to less than 80% mositure content and use for aerobic composting, which may cause the problems like low fermentation efficiency, serious odor and large area. In this paper, municipal sludge is compressed and dewatered to about 60% moisture content, then aerobic composting is carried out with organic waste such as domestic waste, and the fermentation period is reduced from 30 days to about 20 days. The composting system is basically odorless, and the area of composting system is reduced by more than 50%.
