The objective of the present research is to simulate the magnetic field exerted by an electromagnet on MR fluid placed in its air gap. In order to check the uniformity of magnetic field density on the pole of electromagnet, the simulation of magnetic field density is carried out using MAG-NET software. The different point on which magnetic field density is to be determined is taken across the pole of electromagnet. The magnetic field density detection probe command is taken from the drop down menu of software. This probe is placed on the various points on pole of electromagnet across which magnetic field density is to be measured. The result shows that the mean magnetic flux density at the pole of an electromagnet is 1.45 Tesla. The simulation results are further validated with experimental results. It was found that the magnetic field density is uniform across the pole of the electromagnet.
