Nano sized titania particles were synthesized by three different methods, namely sol gel, ultrasonic and hydrothermal route. Characterization of the synthesized materials was done by XRD, FESEM and FTIR analysis. Photocatalytic activity of the materials was evaluated by observing the photodegradation of textile dye methylene blue. TiO2 prepared via hydrothermal route showed distinct rod like morphology and exhibited highest photocatalytic activity than that prepared from other two methods.
