In this article, we first present a basic overview of the cutting-edge fields of electronics science, presenting principles and techniques for their implementation. The purpose of this review is to highlight the compelling and necessary pedagogical guidelines for science and society in the 21st century that concern the science of electronics as it should be approached and taught at various levels of education - upper secondary level (Vocational Senior High school, EPAL) and post-secondary (apprenticeships, 4th post-graduate year), in the context of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and, finally, in Higher Education. The second part of the article attempts a reflection of the current teaching practice as it relates to the initial review. For this purpose, data from the international educational practice concerning a first formation of answers is collected and analyzed. The third part of the article briefly evaluates the teaching methods in the departments of Technological Engineering where the principles of Electronics are taught. A first attempt is made to interpret the data so far, record assumptions and first answers on the fields of application, and outline how the fields of study of specialization will contribute to the development of the 21st century innovations and what the current principles of teaching should be.
