Solvent effect on aggregation properties of the monosubstituted pillararenes containing N-alkyl amide fragments with the different length of the substituent has been investigated. It was shown by transmission and scanning electron microscopy that the monoamide derivatives based on the pillararene form various types of associates depending on the solvent. The ability of the investigated pillararenes to form supramolecular polymers in chloroform and nanometer-sized spherical particles in DMSO has been established. Moreover, it was found that the addition of water to the solutions of pillararene in DMSO led to formation of supramolecular polymers, while the addition of alcohol did not affect the type of formed associates.
