A new class of pyridine linked hydrazinyl oxazoles and imidazoles were prepared from heteroaryl Schiffˈs bases adopting conventional and ultrasonication methodologies. All compounds were resulted in higher yield and shorter reaction time in ultrasound irradiation method when compared with the conventional method. The lead compounds were also tested for antimicrobial activity. Amongst all the tested compounds pyridine linked hydrazinyl imidazoles displayed higher antibacterial activity and antifungal activity when compared with the standard drugs.
