Ultrahigh gas sensitivity of nanocomposites based on wide-gap metal oxides with a fractal-percolation structure is explained within the framework of simple physical mechanisms. It is shown that the gas sensitivity of such nanocomposites depends on the presence of pores with different size and rank. A correlation between the power of the percolating spanning cluster and the gas sensitivity of nanocomposites was established. As the power approaches the flow threshold, the gas sensitivity increases, while the power values are not formally limited.
