A series of alkynyl-containing compounds containing a formazan, 8-hydroxyquinoline, or 1,3-dicarbonyl moeity, as well as propargyl-containing tetrazolium salts were obtained. The obtained compounds are promising as metal ion ligands, sensors, fluorophores and can be used for covalent immobilization onto different azido-functionalized solid materials.
