In the present study, SH wave propagating in a visco-elastic fiber-reinforced layer resting over a porous half-space is investigated. With the aid of variable separable method, the displacement components have been obtained. Both the media are under the impact of distinct initial stresses. The displacement components thus obtained along with some boundary constraints offer ascent to a dispersion equation in determinant form. Some suitable cases are also explained in detail. The significant effect of viscosity, porosity, initial stresses and fiber-reinforcement has been examined and demonstrated graphically.
