Composites have created interest among researchers as they can be tailor made for required suitability. Because of this they find applications in general, automobile and aerospace structures. In the context of application, discontinuities are expected which in turn are the root cause for failure of material in later stage due to stress concentration. Provision of patches at discontinuities can address this and effect of internal patches on stress concentration at circular discontinuity is considered in laminate composites. It is noticed that aspect ratio and location of inbuilt patches has influence in reducing stress concentration which is evidenced both by experimental results and FEA.
